The Scottish Arthroplasty Project

The Scottish Arthroplasty Project encourages continual improvement in the quality of care provided to joint replacement surgery patients. This is achieved through the auditing of routinely collected national data in Scotland.

SAP monitors outcomes and outliers through the formal SNAP governance process. It has a proactive research programme and is also involved with SCAN for safety and National implant procurement contracts

The SAP Steering Group has virtual meetings to enable national attendance 4 times a year (March/June/September and December).
