Clinical leadership

The National Green Theatres Specialty Delivery Group (SDG) puts clinical leadership is at the centre of the programme. 

Clinical and professional representatives from NHS Scotland Boards provide advice, assurance and leadership to develop and implementation the programme. 

We also work closely with National Services Scotland, Scottish Government as well as academia and industry.

Collaboratively, we are assessing a range of carbon-saving actions and subsequently developing and publishing associated business cases - called Opportunities for Change. These actions cover a range of areas including structural, equipment and practice changes and vary in their complexity. They also include areas where innovation is required to identify a sustainable solution.  

We are working with our Specialty Delivery Group and national partners to support the implementation of these actions across NHS Scotland. To demonstrate the improvements made, we are supporting Boards to validate and measure their local opportunities for reducing carbon emissions.
