Helping us understand missed appointments
NHS Lanarkshire is working with the NHS Scotland National Elective Coordination Unit (NECU) to understand why some patients are unable to attend outpatient appointments.
As part of this work, some patients who did not attend an outpatient appointment during August may be invited to complete a short survey about their experience.
The feedback gathered will help us better understand the reasons appointments are missed and identify opportunities to improve access to services for patients.
Why have I been contacted?
You may be contacted if you did not attend an outpatient appointment in one of the following specialties during August:
- Dermatology
- General Surgery
- ENT
- Orthopaedics
- Gynaecology
How will I be contacted?
Patients may receive a text message from the NHS Scotland National Elective Coordination Unit (NECU). This will come from the following number: 07860 039092
The message will include a link to a secure Microsoft Forms questionnaire.
A telephone call
Some patients may be contacted by a NECU Patient Coordinator and invited to complete the questionnaire over the phone.
Is this genuine?
Yes.
The survey is being carried out on behalf of NHS Lanarkshire by the NHS Scotland National Elective Coordination Unit (NECU).
If you receive a text message from 07860 039092 or a telephone call from a NECU Patient Coordinator regarding this survey, it is a legitimate NHS initiative.
Do I have to take part?
No. Participation is voluntary.
However, feedback from patients is valuable and will help NHS Lanarkshire understand barriers to attending appointments and support future service improvements.
How will my information be used?
Information provided through the survey will be used to help NHS Lanarkshire better understand patient experiences relating to missed appointments and identify opportunities for improvement.
Survey responses will be handled securely and in line with NHS information governance requirements.
