General Surgery

Our General Surgery Specialty Delivery Group includes nominated representation from all Health Boards providing General Surgery Services in Scotland.

Boards are asked to nominate representatives to cover Clinical Leadership (e.g. a Consultant), and Management.

We have made considerable progress implementing Active Clinical Referral Triage (ACRT) pathways and this remains a focus for 2023/24.

The focus of the SDG is currently Inguinal Hernia, Biliary Disease, and Emergency Laparoscopic and Laparotomy Scottish Audit (ELLSA) pathways.

The General Surgery Specialty Delivery Group provides a forum for sharing new ways of working in General Surgery.

The General Surgery Specialty Delivery Group continues to develop measurement to ensure these programmes have the desired benefits for our patients.
